Last date for submissions - Saturday 14th May.
Just before you enter, you need to know these commonsense rules:
- Your poem is important. Make sure you have another copy. Although we take every care we cannot be responsible for entries that go missing.
- By entering your poem into the festival you are agreeing to it being exhibited and (if chosen) performed by you or another person.
- We encourage a wide range of topics and approaches but the organisers reserve the right not to exhibit poetry deemed inappropriate for a general audience.
Submitting your poetry
* Write a poem - there is no set topic (you may enter up to three poems you have written provided they have not been published elsewhere);
* Choose how you want to enter, by post or by e-mail. It is perfectly acceptable for a community group to submit in bulk if this is easier to organise, but each individual submission will still require the information below.
- by post - on the back of your poem, write (i) your name; (ii) age category (infant, junior, secondary, adult); (iii) how we can contact you (address or telephone number); then post your poem to ‘Poetry Festival’, The Rectory, Sherringham Close, Fawley, SO45 1SQ.
- by e-mail - (i) use the email Subject line ‘Poetry Festival’; (ii) write your name and your age in the body of the e-mail; (iii) you may send the poem as an attachment or included in the body of the e-mail. Send your e-mail to fawleyfestival@googlemail.com
We look forward to seeing your poetry in the exhibition!
